The ICC’s board-meeting release says the remaining MCC Laws of Cricket changes will be adopted with effect from 1 October 2026. As of this report’s publication, that date is still ahead.
Keep the dates separate An announcement date and an effective date answer different questions. A published decision does not mean a future-dated change is already being used in every match. The playing conditions for the relevant competition remain important.
Other decisions listed The release also describes changes concerning coaching consultation during scheduled drinks intervals, 15-minute T20I intervals and batters being ready when play resumes. It reports permanent adoption of the legside-wides trial.
Those items appear alongside the October law-adoption decision. The release should not be interpreted as assigning the same start date to every item without checking the applicable playing-condition document.
Supporters comparing matches across formats should use the ICC’s official documents and the competition’s stated conditions.
